Islanders are being urged to register for a "running race with a difference" to raise funds for a local charity which allows disabled and disadvantaged islanders to experience the joys of boating.
The gruelling 4.7km 'True Grit' race is set to take place at end of April, promising to take participants on a "challenging adventure through the Ronez Quarry site on Jersey’s rugged North coast".
The teams of runners venture down into the quarry and back out again, facing tough terrain and challenging climbs whilst navigating around the gigantic Ronez machinery and equipment.
Launched in 2020 and sponsored by Ravenscroft, True Grit is the main annual fundraiser for ocean therapy charity Wetwheels.

The charity offers disabled and disadvantaged islanders the chance to experience the joys of boating in its specially modified top-of-the-range catamaran.
The next True Grit event will be held on 28 April 2024, with more category choices allowing islanders of all ages and abilities to partake.
This includes a short course for schoolchildren in Years 4 and up, with the school which enters the most teams awarded a Wetwheels trip.
True Grit is organised by 3D Events and sponsored by Ravenscroft, IQ-EQ, Seapower Marine and Ronez.

Haydn Taylor, Managing Director of Ravenscroft in Jersey, said: "True Grit is a brilliant fundraising challenge that has something for everyone.
"Everyone crossing the line has a huge smile on their face!
“Ravenscroft has been the gold sponsor since the first True Grit, and we have extended our support to the 2024 event, which we know will be bigger and better.”

David Jones, Chair of Wetwheels Jersey, said: “True Grit is a fun but competitive challenge, and it raises significant funds which help cover the cost of operating Wetwheels Jersey.
"I would urge people to sign up soon because this is a very popular event and we want as many as possible to take part.”
Early bird registrations are open now and will close on 31 December 2023.
More details about the event can be found on the True Grit website.
