The RNLI has thanked a kitesurfer who rescued a sailor who came off his catamaran in St Aubin's Bay last night.
The man had been preparing to go kitesurfing when he noticed that a Hobie Cat had capsized and one crew member was in the sea.
In a post on social media, the RNLI said that the kitesurfer went to find the sailor and gave him his board as he was tired.
The kitesurfer then swam to the Hobie Cat.
Meanwhile, the RNLI's inshore lifeboat was on its way and rescued the sailor who was on the kiteboard, before helping the catamaran.
The other Hobie Cat crew member had been hit in the cheek when the boat capsized.
While assisting the catamaran crew, the RNLI found there had been an issue with the rigging and found "a temporary fix" so they could bring it back to shore.
The RNLI crew thanked the kitesurfer, and he was given a lift back to Bel Royal.
