Motorbike crash closes airport road for two hours

A 27-year-old female motorcyclist hit a car and a van in a crash this weekend, which ended up closing the airport road for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon.

The motorcyclist also lost her helmet in the accident. She was taken to hospital, but her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident, which took place at 13:50 on Saturday, close to the entrance to St Peter's Garden Centre, near the junction between the airport road and La Rue des Vignes. 

The motorcyclist hit the grey VW van, driven by a 57-year-old man, and the impact caused her to fall into the path of a blue Vauxhall Tigra, which was driven by another 57-year-old man. The motorcyclist's condition is hospital was described as "stable."
