A Roll of Honour to commemorate the soldiers who lost their lives will be unveiled in St. Helier tomorrow.
Representatives of the Royal British Legion and Constable Simon Crowcroft will be some of the faces gathering to pay their respects at the launch taking place in the temporary Poppy Shop in the old Beghin’s store on King Street.
The roll was compiled by Barry Bertram in 2013 and commemorates those in the Boer War, First World War and Second World War, as well as known Jersey men and women who died during the Occupation.
It will be available for the public to view from noon on Monday and will remain in place for the rest of the week.

Royal British Legion Chairman Colonel Tim Daniels said: “In these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to be able to offer a helping hand to those service personnel, past and present, who are struggling to look after themselves and their family. This the Royal British Legion does with your generous help.
“The names on this Roll of Honour made the ultimate sacrifice and did not come home to the island and families they loved. It is up to us to remember them, and to ensure that their descendants living today are comforted that we will always remember them and their service.”
It follows the Welfare Chairman urging people to donate and buy a poppy last week, saying that "veterans are in a particularly bad place because of covid."
