A group of people who work to keep children and vulnerable adults safe have been given awards.
The six include a police officer who works with victims of domestic abuse, a social worker for children and young people and a volunteer street pastor who goes out at night giving support to people on the Island's streets.
Manny De Freitas, Detective Sergeant of the Public Protection Unit was one of the six to be nominated for the award along with Nicola Hayward the Independent Living Co-ordinator for Andium Homes, the Island's largest social housing provider and James Lynch - Chair of multi-agency public protection arrangements.
Social worker Diane Burgess, Jersey Sport's Nikki Holmes and Sarah Hawthornthwaite from Freedom Street were also given certificates of commendation at the Safeguarding Partnership Boards Annual Development Day.
The awards were presented by the Independent Chair of the Safeguarding Partnership Board (SPB), Glenys Johnston, OBE, at the SPB Annual Development Day, which brings together members of the boards to set priorities for the following year.
Under the Independent Chair, the Safeguarding Children Partnership Board includes representatives from the police, Community and Social Services, Children’s Services, Family Nursing and Home Care, Prison, Primary Care Body, Education, CAMHS, Ambulance Service, Health and Social Services, Probation, Honorary Police and the NSPCC.
