A school minibus collided with a heavy goods vehicle at the junction of Bagatelle Road and Les Varines at 3.26 pm yesterday afternoon.
No-one was hurt in the accident, which caused the road to be blocked for some time.
Both drivers were spoken to by the police, and staff from the Infrastructure department had to be called out to deal with diesel leaking from the lorry.
The fire service were also called out to the crash, and put fire cover in place and used special absorbent mats to stop the leaking diesel spreading too far.
Jersey Fire and Rescue Service Watch Commander Ryan said that the children on the minibus had stayed calm and acted responsibly.
He said: “The parents should be proud of their children’s behaviour during this incident”
In another crash this morning, a woman was taken to hospital after she was involved in a crash at around 7.30 am on the main road through St John. The black Audi that she is thought to have been driving had flipped completely, blocking the road.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
