Local pupils have been invited to design a public EV charger as part of a new competition.
Being held as part of JEC's centenary year celebrations, the contest is open to local pupils in years one to three in the 24/25 academic year.
Information and charger templates were supplied to local schools for pupils to design using the theme of ‘100 years of Jersey Electricity’ on Monday which marked World EV Day.
12 winning designs will be chosen by Jersey Electricity and each wrapped on one of their 112 public EV charging points around the island.

Werner Bornman, Director of Technology at Jersey Electricity, said: “As JE marks its 100th anniversary, we want to engage with as many islanders as possible.
"We hope this competition will spark the imagination of Jersey’s pupils while also introducing them to the concept of sustainable transport, which will become increasingly mainstream as they grow up. We’re excited to see their designs!”
The deadline for entering a design is Friday 20 December and the winners will be announced on Friday 17 January 2025.
