Searches were conducted overnight involving the Police, Fire Service, RNLI and Channel Islands Air Search, with Police appealing to islanders for information as to his whereabouts. Social media reports suggested potential sightings of Mr Fernandes last night in the St Ouen area, which have been reported to the Police. A number of other Facebook users commented, "Hope he is found safe and well."
In a short statement, the Police confirmed that there were "no suspicious circumstances" surrounding the death. A file will be prepared for the Viscount's office.
