Shops compete for best dressed Christmas window

Thursday 03 November 2016

You might not have started your Christmas shopping yet but our high street stores are getting spruced up and battling it out to have the best dressed Christmas window.

Around 25 town retailers are competing in this year's competition and Voisins will be looking to retain the title they won last year.

Organiser Anna Renouf said: "The competition is basically to celebrate the talent of the local retailers, because the Christmas windows have such a big impact on the festive atmosphere in the town centre, we just wanted to give something back to celebrate their creative talents."

There are trophies up for grabs for the best small, medium and large size windows. This year Sure have twinned with a local brownie group and Accessorise have teamed up with Haute Vallee school to create the best display in the competition's community window category.

It's up to you who wins but this year a panel of judges will also decide their favourite in The Judges' Choice.

You can pick up a voting slip in each participating store and either hand back to the store or take your vote along to the Town Hall or you can vote online here.

You have until Tuesday 13 December to decide on your favourite before this year's winners are announced at an Award Ceremony in Broad Street on Thursday 15 December at 18:00.
