Special card to spread Christmas cheer for local families

Thursday 29 October 2015

A young school girl is hoping her family of snowmen will spread some Christmas cheer in your office this year and help raise money for a local charity that looks after local families.

Grace Jardine who is seven and goes to St John's primary school has designed a Christmas card for Family Nursing and Home Care - a charity that costs £24,000 a day to run.

The Charity has to raise £4,600 every single day in voluntary donations and hopes local businesses and schools will buy an A4 version of the "Three Snowmen" card to display in their offices and help them raise thousands this Christmas.

FHNC’s Fundraising Manager Ivo Le Maistre-Smith said: “The idea is for Grace’s excellent card to be displayed in communal areas so colleagues and pupils can all write a festive message in the one card to share with everyone, in exchange for a donation to FNHC. We have 200 cards and will be issuing them on a first-come-first-served basis.

“We hope to raise £5,000 from this initiative, and it’s an ideal way for the island’s corporate businesses and schools to help to raise vital funds for FNHC, whilst extending some Christmas cheer to their colleagues, and without the need for everyone to send individual cards.”

You can register for Grace’s card by contacting Louise Ferns at FNHC on l.ferns@fnhc.org.je or by calling her on 444480.

The card will be posted free of charge with a collection box.
