Staff who found body in reservoir offered support

Thursday 04 August 2016

Jersey Water have confirmed the workmen who discovered the body this morning at Handois Reservoir were staff members conducting routine maintenance.

The reservoir is private property and so is not open to the public. Jersey Water says it has now handed the site over the the Police so that they can continue their investigations. Previously, the Police had searched the water with both sonar and specialist divers in their hunt for Adrian Lynch, but nothing was found.

Jersey Water are now offering "support" to the staff members who found the remains of a partially submerged body.

Helier Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Jersey Water, said “This is clearly a distressing time for our staff and in particular the team working at Handois today, all of whom have been offered every support. Our thoughts are also with Adrian’s family.”

Handois reservoir has been subjected to several extensive Police searches during the ongoing investigation, including sonar and divers. The reservoir, which is not normally open to the public, is now under the control of the police and there is no access to anyone without prior police approval.

Jersey Water will continue to do all it can to support the Police as they complete their investigation."
