State Street staff have helped with the refurbishment of ‘First Impressions’ at Jersey Zoo.
In support of their Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Engagement focus, a team of volunteers from State Street recently completed a three day task up at Jersey Zoo, refurbishing the central building “First Impressions” within the Andean Bear enclosure.
State Street supported Jersey Zoo with 25 volunteers, almost 13% of their workforce, over the three-day period.
Paul Mundy, Managing Director at State Street Guernsey, Head of Director Services EMEA, and Interim Managing Director at State Street Jersey said: “We’re extremely proud of the work we were able to complete for Jersey Zoo. This was a great project for State Street which fits in perfectly with our Corporate Social Responsibility goals and we’re happy to be a part of it. I want to thank all the volunteers for their time and commitment and a special thanks to Jennie Crocker for being the link between Jersey Zoo and State Street.”
The team included Kirsty Booth, Mark Dempsey, Nigel Hill, Lisa Le Gresley, Carly McCormick, Emily Copp, Gillian Guthrie, Julie Lyons, Dwayne Palmer, Amanda Walsh, Jonathan Green, Damien Green, Alex McKimmon, Sheila Channing, Samantha Ellis, Martyn Noel, Dylan Tomkins, Vidhya Vikaykumar, Thomas Frost, Jennifer Du Four, Jennie Crocker, Tim Pallot, Michaela Gaffney, Jade McCormack, and Darren Aitchison.
In addition to working on the 'First Impressions' area, the teams got some quality time with the Andean Bears and their keepers, and also the gorillas and the orang-utans and on the final day the group spent time with the meerkats cleaning out their outside area.
The project was completed on time and will be open to the public soon.
