Ferries cancelled as Storm Hannah looms

Friday 26 April 2019

Condor has had to cancel all of its high-speed sailings between France, the UK and Jersey, as 'Storm Hannah' threatens to thrash the Channel Islands with severe gusts leading to six-metre waves.

According to the ferry provider, the wave heights and wind speeds of 45 knots predicted in the English Channel for tomorrow are outside safe limits for operation.

Conditions are due to be equally windy between France, and the ferry operator says it has been necessary to cancel Condor Rapide’s sailing’s from St. Malo to Jersey and return.

Condor’s customer contact centre and port teams are notifying passengers to offer alternative sailings where space is available and to help rearrange their travel plans. All are being offered free transfers or a full refund.

Jersey Met has issued a warning about potential gale force winds starting from tonight.
