Around seventy local school children turned Liberty Wharf into the West End this lunchtime, to the delight of shoppers and Islanders enjoying a break from the office.
Children from musical theatre group, 'West End Experience', laid on an impromptu 'flash mob' performance of 'Joyful Joyful' from Sister Act, watched by a large group of stunned passers-by.
The flash mob was all part of the kids' training for their big show this Sunday evening at the Opera House, which marks the end of a week's experience of what it's like to be a star West End performer.
Karl Davies who is the Musical Director of West End Experience explains why they love coming to Jersey:
"We come to the Island to bring a West End experience to the kids, to give them an opportunity which they deserve. We do a week's workshop with them, with a show on the Sunday, so they get that experience. You can see the results, when the kids come at the beginning of the week they are of a certain standard, but at the end of the week they are phenomenal, an absolute joy to work with, in this Island especially.
"We do these all over the UK, and they see this every week, but over here they appreciate everything you do, and it's a real joy to work with them."
