Teen taken to A&E after being 'hit by BMW'

Monday 03 October 2022

A 17-year-old boy was left with “bruises, cuts and grazes to his face and hands” after being hit by a BMW driver who failed to stop and leave details, police have said.

Officers said the reported collision took place on Friday around 16:30 on St. Aubin’s Inner Road in the area of St. Andrew’s Park.

The driver of the navy blue BMW initially stopped and spoke to the boy, "however then drove off without leaving any details", they said.

Police added: "The driver is described as being in his 30s or early 40s with dark hair.

"The boy did attend the Emergency Department at the hospital and was released several hours later."

They appealed for witnesses and those with dash-cam footage this morning - since then, the driver has come forward.
