An 18-year-old man has been found 'not guilty' of rape following a trial in the Royal Court.
Reece Steven Kennedy had been charged in February of this year with rape, and causing a sexual act without consent, in 2021.
Following a trial that opened in the Royal Court before the Deputy Bailiff last Wednesday, the jury returned a verdict of 'not guilty' in respect of the charge of rape.
They were unable to reach either a unanimous or majority verdict in relation to the second count.
Mr Kennedy was subsequently discharged from the prosecution in respect of both counts.
