An elderly lady was left feeling “shaken and distressed” last night after two thieves stole a purse from her mobility scooter, causing it to topple over.

Two men thought to be in their late teens or early twenties took a silver purse from the woman in Clarendon Road, St Helier at around 18:30 yesterday.

Their actions caused the woman’s scooter to topple, leading her to sustain minor injuries.

The pair then fled to the area towards Palmyra Road. One was described as wearing a light grey hooded top, with the hood pulled up over a cap underneath.
