Toddler ‘thrown onto road’ from pram after car hit

Monday 03 December 2018

A three-year-old child was thrown into the road after its pram was hit by a sports car this morning, Police have said.

The child was reported not to have been harmed, but officials are nonetheless looking for information on the collision.

The collision was reported to have taken place on Le Hurel, the lane from Manor Park stores leading towards Queen’s Road, around 08:20 this morning.

They said that a “blue sporty-type car with pop-up headlamps” was travelling along Le Hurel at the same time as a mother accompanied by two young children was walking the same route. The youngest child (3) was in a push chair.

When the car came around the corner, Police said it struck the pushchair, causing the child to be thrown onto the road. “Thankfully the child was unhurt,” they added.

They are now appealing for information from anyone who saw or has further information about the accident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Police on 612612 or make an anonymous report via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111 or using their online form.
