Two of the Tortoise Takeover sculptures have had to be temporarily removed from the trail after sustaining cracks.
Katherine Cadin's 'Puffling', which was based at Sorel, and Lauren Radley's 'Gaia', which was on King Street, are currently undergoing urgent repairs.
Ms Cadin described news of her tortoise being damaged as "really upsetting" as she announced that it was undergoing repairs on social media yesterday.
"Unfortunately 'Puffling' was badly damaged over the weekend and has had to be removed for urgent repairs to two large cracks. It's really upsetting that this has happened, we have no idea how or why," she said.
"Can I please ask everyone to not sit or stand on the tortoises themselves? They are works of art, and hours of work went into painting them. They have to remain intact to be enjoyed by everyone, and then sold at auction to benefit Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust."
It comes just days after two other artists made a plea to islanders to take care around the sculptures.
Creator of 'Janvrin's Tortoise' Jamie O'Neill, last week reminded islanders that the tortoises were "works of art" and "not playgrounds", after part of her tortoise design – an intricate miniature message in a bottle – went missing.
Abi Overland also reported damage to her Colomberie-based tortoise, 'Stay Gold'.
Pictured: Jamie said she believed that someone may have taken the little 'message in a bottle' off her tortoise "as a souvenir".
The tortoises, which are dotted all around the island, will remain in situ until the end of August. After that, they will be auctioned off to raise money for a new reptile enclosure.
