Town daubed with over 60 graffiti tags

Tuesday 29 October 2019

St. Helier is awash with graffiti after a spate of spray-painting over the weekend saw more than 60 'tags' daubed on walls across town.

Police have now issued an appeal for information to help identify those responsible for the "malicious damage", which was believed to be carried out between the evening of Saturday (26 October) and the early hours of Sunday.

Both private and commercial properties were targeted in the graffiti spate, primarily in the areas of West's Centre, Bath Street and Ann Street.

Pictured: Ann Street was one of the locations targeted.

According to Police, the most popular 'tags' were "POSH" and "AMS" in black and pink paint.

They now want to speak to any witnesses or those who may be able to help identify the perpetrator(s) and decipher the significance of the tags.

Anyone with information should call Police on 612612 or make an anonymous report using Crimestoppers' online form.
