Tractor ‘failed to stop’ after crashing into rockface

Friday 20 August 2021

Police are appealing for more information about a tractor that allegedly failed to stop after crashing into a rockface near Hotel Cristina, leaving rubble scattered in the road.

Officers said the collision took place this afternoon (Friday 20 August) around 13:10 at the bottom of Mont Felard, St. Lawrence.

In an appeal for witnesses, they said: “A large green tractor (no further details) towing farm machinery was driving up Mont Felard when it collided with the rockface near Hotel Cristina, catching on the mesh covering which caused rubble to fall onto the road.

“The tractor continued to drive up the hill for a distance with a piece of this mesh still attached.

Police would especially like to hear from anyone driving in the area at that time that may have dash cam footage of the incident.”

Anyone who saw what happened or who has more information is urged to call 612612 or make an anonymous report using Crimestoppers' online form.
