Trial of woman accused of causing death of toddler opens

Monday 12 June 2017

The trial of a 39-year-old woman accused of causing the death of three-year-old Clinton Pringle by dangerous driving is opening today in the Royal Court.

Rebekah Le Gal is pleading not guilty to the charge.

Ms Le Gal is being defended by Advocate Matthew Jowitt.

The Prosecution, led by HM Solicitor General Mark Temple, is set to call in ten witnesses, including two experts, during the trial.

The incident at the centre of the trial happened on 27 June last year on Tunnell Street next to Millennium Park while three-year-old Clinton Pringle, of Moodiesburn near Glasgow, was on holiday. He was airlifted to Southampton where he died from his injuries a few days later.
