Extra staff being deployed at Jersey Airport meant the roughly 21,000 passengers passing through over the long weekend faced "few issues", according to Ports of Jersey.
Ports said it was the busiest weekend the airport had faced in 2023 – around 2,000 more than over the 18,324 who travelled over the four-day Easter weekend last month.
Airport Director Robin MacRae said: “Due to the high number of passengers expected, we put plans in help passengers have a smooth journey through the airport.
“As well as holding regular operational calls with Swissport to monitor the situation, preparations were made in advance to provide additional support at times when we anticipated that demand might outweigh resource.
“Ensuring we had colleagues from Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service, engineering, security and passengers services on hand, together with additional staffing from Swissport in the UK, resulted in few issues to the operation.”
In response to complaints about long waits for baggage, a spokesperson for Swissport said: “We recognise delays are frustrating for passengers. In busy periods such as this, disruption from other sources that we don’t control – such as off-schedule flights – can accumulate at our end of the process.
"Our teams are working extremely hard and always do everything they can to meet our high standards and to ensure a positive travel experience for our part of the flight process.”

Some sea passengers who had their travel plans disrupted as a result of rough sea conditions and high wind speeds will be hoping to reach Jersey today.
Condor was unable to operate the Voyager services from Poole and Saint Malo to the island over the past two days, although the Liberation Service from Poole did arrive 25 minutes ahead of its scheduled 15:10 arrival time yesterday.
The first of two Condor Voyager Saint Malo due to operate today arrived at 08:25 this morning, with the second due to arrive at 18:20 this evening.
