Van and oil tanker collide

Friday 01 July 2016

A van travelling down Mont Felard collided with a oil tanker today, blocking both directions.

At 1pm the Fire and Rescue service received a call following a collision and one fire engine, plus a rescue unit were sent to the incident. The tanker’s diesel tank had been damaged, resulting in a small spill.

No-one was injured in the incident, but due to the damage caused to both vehicles the road was closed for a short period of time.

The area was made safe and the Department of Infrastructure attended to clear the diesel from the road to prevent any further incidents occurring. The cause of the incident is under investigation by Jersey Police.
