Jersey Police are appealing for witnesses after a horse was deliberately stabbed in the face, leaving the animal with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
It happened in St Peter on Monday afternoon, and despite being treated by a vet the horse is likely to be permanently disfigured.
The Police say they are taking it very seriously, and describe it as a "rare occurrence." The attack happened on private property along La Grande Route de St Pierre in St. Peter between 12:45 and 13:45.
Anyone information on the incident is asked to contact the Serious Crime Unit via 612612 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 08800 555 111.
