After streaming a Jersey sunset live to a London pub, Visit Jersey has launched their autumn season with a brand new video, competition and set of ‘Jersey ambassadors.’
Their latest video, entitled ‘How do you want to feel this autumn?’, shows some of the Island’s well-known landscapes including Archirondel, Corbière and St. Ouen’s Bay as well as clips of the Royal Square and the Fish Market in town.
Posted on their Facebook page at the beginning of this week, the video already has over 40,000 views and marks the launch of their new competition to win a tailor-made autumn holiday to Jersey.
After the £166,000 re-brand of Jersey Tourism, Visit Jersey is focusing on making Jersey a fashionable holiday destination for UK residents to have a mini-break.
Head of Marketing at Visit Jersey, Adam Caerlewy-Smith said:
“The autumn campaign surrounds four different headings: Replenish, Restore, Rebalance and Refresh. We’re asking visitors which of these they want to feel. Each heading aligns with different Jersey products, so for example Replenish aligns with the local food produce Jersey has to offer. We’re really concentrating on how our beautiful Island can benefit visitors and how it can make them feel.”
The competition is open to all UK residents. To enter, hopeful holidaymakers must choose which of the four headings they want and they could be in with a chance to win a tailor-made break aligned to the heading of their choice.
Visit Jersey plans on launching new campaigns with the turn of every season to show the different perks Jersey has to offer throughout the year.
Also brand new for Visit Jersey’s autumn launch is two additions to their Jersey ambassadors page. This project is to celebrate “locals who are passionate about making the most of Jersey’s island setting, who live and breathe the landscape to the full all year round.”
Already listed as ambassadors for the Island are:
When asked about the ambassador project, Mr Caerlewy-Smith said: “It’s been so much fun working with people who are so passionate about their island and want to share how they feel about it with the wider world. When that passion comes from real people, it really shines through.
“All of our ambassadors are from different age groups and different backgrounds but they’re all wanting to share their love for this Island.”
If you know someone who you think is an ambassador for the Island, they could be “a local personality, or someone with a unique perspective on Jersey life”, you can nominate them on the Visit Jersey website.
