Beach-going islanders are being reminded to tidy up after themselves after firefighters had to be called out to damp down the remains of a fire.
St. Saviour’s Honorary Police reported that they had to attend the spot off Le Dicq Slip early on Sunday morning to deal with the aftermath of the party, which included glass bottles, cigarette butts, plastic, lighters, and other debris.
The police force went on to thank Jersey Fire and Rescue for attending the scene to dampen down the remains of the fire, which officers pointed out was “still hot” and could have caused harm to dogs or people later in the morning.
“All not good for safety and the environment... Please tidy up after yourselves and make sure any BBQ or fire is cold before leaving,” they said.
