Pablo, a two-year old Spanish Mastin Labrador cross, is still looking fur a home after five months at the JSPCA.
Pablo came to the island from Spain when he was just a pup, but his family brought him to the Animals' Shelter last November after realising the pup didn't like living with a child.
Described as a "real big sweetie," Pablo loves playing fetch and a game of football. He likes being chased and chasing the staff at the JSPCA back. He also likes chasing leaves and getting muddy on a rainy day.

Pablo's favourite thing though is destroying boxes, a hobby that the JSPCA says is cheap to entertain. He also loves visitors and gets so excited that he gets the "zoomies."
Even though Pablo is a big dog, he doesn't need loads of exercise and is happy with short walks or long strolls. He however can be a bit fussy about where he stretches his legs and will let his owners know what his favourite place his, the staff say. He also likes to relax and spending time in his own bed sometimes.

During his time at the JSPCA, Pablo has been learning recall, sitting and dropping his toys when asked to. While he's been doing great at learning the first two, the latter is still a work in progress.
Pablo is looking for an adult-only home and to be the only pet. While people have shown interest, and even sent him a blanket, the team at the JSPCA is struggling to find a home, despite many appeals.

Pablo is not the only dog who has been at the JSPCA for a while. Noddy, a four-year old terrier mix, has been looking for a home for 10 months. A guardian family has taken him in and Noddy has been training with staff at the JSPCA three times a week around other dogs.
As Noddy had problems with his legs in the past, he can't do too much exercise and only needs short walks. He however has lots of energy and likes playing with his toys, potter about the garden as well as cuddles and naps.

Also waiting for a new home are 10 terrapins. After Reg's Garden took a group of them in last year, the JSPCA received new arrivals. A spokesperson explained the shelter really struggles to rehome them as there is currently no demand for them.
They are hoping to send some to St. Malo Aquarium when it reopens in June but are hoping local families will be willing to adopt them in pairs.
A spokesperson explained: "It is important to highlight to the public that we are struggling to find homes for local animals.
"It is very stressful being in a kennel or shelter environment for a long period of time. We see some of their characters change and some can become quite depressed."
