Festival crowds might be notorious for spilling drinks, but one performer thought passing a giant glass of tequila across hundreds of people was worth a shot to celebrate a technician’s birthday at the Weekender.

Popular singer-songwriter Rag'n'Bone Man, who played the Weekender stage on Saturday night, sent a special gift across the crowd of festival goers whilst singing 'Happy Birthday' to his sound man, Rob.

The festival, now in its second year, took place at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity over the weekend and showcased celebrity acts like Rita Ora and Dizzee Rascal alongside local talents.

Saturday tickets sold out before the festival started, with many islanders rushing to get tickets to see headliner Dizzee Rascal's second performance in the island after performing Jersey Live 2009.

Weekender Jersey was set up last year by former Jersey Live organiser, Warren Le Sueur, after it was announced that the 13-year-old music event would be coming to an end.

Video: Crowds managed to pass the tequila from the stage all the way to the technician - but not without a little spillage.

Rag'n'Bone Man wasn't the only act celebrating over the weekend, with disco group Sister Sledge posted on social media expressing what a "wonderful night" they had in Jersey, performing for hundreds of local festival goers.

Visiting music acts certainly brought the weather with them, with highs of 25 degrees on both days of the festival.
