WATCH: Knock, knock... Who's there?

Tuesday 01 August 2023

Picture the scene: you're at home, enjoying the peace and quiet when you hear a loud knock, followed by another, and then another, and some more... but you're not expecting a visitor, not least a feathered one.

Guernsey-based Becky Link has experienced this several times in recent weeks, as a seagull keeps trying to stop by to say hello.

'Stan' – as Mrs Link has nicknamed the bird – tried both her front and back doors to get in.

Video: Stan's attempts to get into Becky Link's home.

Ms Link said she hasn't fed the seagull, but he has taken a liking to her Torteval home, and isn't even put off by her cats.

After several incidents with Stan, she came home one day to find the gull in her home – and he has since persisted in coming back to try and get in.

Ms Link originally shared the videos on her personal Facebook account, to the amusement of her friends, with one asking why she was giving Stan the "silent tweetment".
