What are you up to this weekend?

Friday 15 July 2016

Every Friday, Bailiwick Express is publishing a new weekly e-mail listing the events taking place on the forthcoming weekend.

Called 'The Weekender,' it'll arrive in subscribers' e-mail inboxes just after 1600 every week, so that they can see a list of what's coming up, as well as a weather forecast, a digest of light news and entertainment stories in order to plan their weekend.

The new service also coincides with the launch of a new events diary section on the Express website, which you can see here

Express Director, Mark Jackson, commented:

"There is so much which happens in Jersey, whether it is sport, music, business, cultural, or some other form of event. We thought that it was becoming quite difficult for Islanders to keep across all that was happening, so the idea of the events section is to have as many local events as possible, easily displayed online in the same place, and also sent as a weekly e-mail to our subscribers of which there are now close to 10,000. Clearly most of those are local residents, but we have already had visitors signing up to the Weekender e-mail, so that they can easily see what is happening in the Island during their stay.

"Within the next week Islanders will be able to upload their own events, or to 'claim' an event which is already listed if they are the organiser. In the interim, if you would like an event listed, please just e-mail us by clicking here for more information.

"Following on the heels of the new Gazette section for public announcements and notices, the events section is another online service which we hope will be of use to Islanders, in order to plan their weekends."
