There were quite literally one million reasons to enter Jersey Hospice’s Lottery fundraiser this year – and now the winner of the golden ticket has finally been announced.
Champagne will be popped by one or more lucky islanders this evening, after the winner of the top prize of £1million was revealed with the help of compere and States Deputy Peter 'Mac' Maclinton and island superstar yachtsman Phil Sharpe.
So who was it? And who took home the remaining £300,000? Express has all the answers below.
Now in its eleventh year, tickets for Jersey Hospice’s biggest annual event, which offers islanders the chance at pocketing a life-changing sum, were snapped up at speed after being released in May.

While the event, featuring champagne, confetti and sparkle will certainly be enjoyed by the jackpot champions, Jersey Hospice will emerge as the true winner.
Proceeds from the 6,000 tickets – priced at £300 each – help generate £500,000 towards the annual running costs of the charity, which offers support and comfort to islanders at the end of their lives.

"With your help, tonight has raised £500,000 for Jersey Hospice Care, enough to pay for our Day Hospice and Bereavement Service for one year," a spokesperson wrote on social media.
