There have been tears, tantrums and triumphs over the past month as the Island enjoyed its first ever Cash Dash.

Players have won everything from a nifty fifty to a gorgeous grand in hidden locations ranging from Millennium Park in St Helier to the White House in St Ouen. The competition has produced 30 champions and given away thousands of pounds in cash courtesy of local finance firm Qi Finance.

Only one envelope was left undiscovered on Sunday 28th September meaning the winnings were instead donated to RNLI Jersey. The charity has also received an additional donation from Qi Finance, which was collected by Stormy Sam in the final location, Weighbridge Place, and rounded off a fantastic month.

Yesterday was the last day of Cash Dash, and it attracted the largest crowd with over 150 Islanders hunting for the prize, which was locked in a chest and required a hidden key.

The winner was Rosie Barrett who scooped £1,000. She said: “I can’t believe it, I’m still shaking! There’s so many things I want to spend it on.

“Last week my mobile phone was stolen and I never thought I’d be able to afford another good one.

“I’ve also been working really hard all summer to raise money to move to London and buy a new guitar so this is amazing. Are you sure this is real?”

A number of syndicates have formed over the month including one from Lloyds Bank who played on numerous occasions finally grasping the prize of £250 on 23rd September at Liberation Station.

Cash Dash champions have vowed to spend their winnings on everything from gifts for loved ones, to first holidays, to paying off University and personal debts.

Kimberley Joshua, Director of Sales, Qi Group, said: “Qi Finance Cash Dash has been a wonderful success. It was quite an experiment to run a competition entirely through digital channels such as social media, Vimeo and the web, but we’ve been delighted that it’s attracted such a vast audience. Over 2,500 people have engaged in the competition and we have created 30 champions!”
