A man in his 20s needed hospital treatment after an assault in town on Sunday evening.

The man was punched in the face in the Kensington Place area on Sunday between 9.30 pm and 10 pm – police described his injuries as serious.

The victim went to hospital yesterday afternoon and was discharged yesterday evening.
