Police are hunting witnesses after a man in his 60s allegedly abused a small dog in town.
The alleged animal cruelty incident took place around 16:20 on Sunday on the Castle Street side of Sand Street Car Park.
Police say the man was wearing a yellow winter coat. His dog is described as being “small” and “sandy coloured.”
Anyone in the area at the time is asked to contact the Police.
