Woman admits smuggling cocaine into island

Saturday 10 July 2021

A 39-year-old woman has admitted she tried to bring cocaine into the island.

Dorchester-born Kerrie-Ann Potts appeared before Commissioner Julian Clyde Smith in the Royal Court on Friday, where she pleaded 'guilty' to the single charge.

The offence took place in May of this year at Jersey Airport.

Potts was represented by Advocate Julia-Anne Dix, with Solicitor General Matthew Jowitt QC prosecuting.

She is remanded in custody until she appears in the Royal Court again on 21 October, where she will be sentenced before the Superior Number - a panel of jurats that only sits for the most serious offences.
