CULTURE CALENDAR: A year à la Française

Friday 01 January 2021

While travelling to France seems like a far-fetched hope at the moment, the Alliance Française will be bringing some French flair to the cultural calendar.

In addition to new French courses, the Alliance will be offering an "exciting" programme of cultural events, which provide an opportunity to meet others as well as to develop language skills. T

Despite a challenging year due to covid, the Alliance has managed to maintain its programme of French tuition by moving classes online, and is ready to do so again if a new lockdown threatens. New French classes will be starting on 4 January 2021.

"The Alliance is proud to help maintain the ancient connections between the people, cultures and languages of Jersey and France. Why not join us, and 'defrost your French' this winter?!" Director Camille Perdereau said.

Group classes for adults and children, corporate and private tuition, as well as conversation classes in person and on-line will be available along with a series of events promoting French and francophone culture.

Here are some of the highlights from this year's calendar...

Cineclub

Jersey Museum - 22 January, 12 February and 12 March.

The Alliance will be showing two episodes of the critically-acclaimed tv series 'Call my agent' at each of its cineclub evenings.
