The teenager who stars as the young Gerald Durrell in ITV’s new hit drama series on Sunday nights has a new role to play as the wildlife charity's latest ambassador.
Milo Parker who plays the young conservationist in The Durrells joins Jersey's very own Superman Henry Cavill as ambassador and will be working to inspire a new breed of passionate young animal lovers.
The 13-year-old said: “It’s a massive honour for me to join the Durrell family as their new Ambassador. Their conservation work around the world is extraordinary and I look forward to supporting them in this vital work.
"I visited the wildlife park headquarters in Jersey in March and was amazed at the commitment of the staff and the breadth of the operation behind the scenes. I’m truly humbled to have the opportunity to contribute in my small way.”
Milo will start filming the second series of the Durrells in Corfu in the Autumn. The show, based on Gerald Durrell's 'Corfu Trilogy', a series of three books which tell the story of his childhood on the Greek Island in the 1930's was an immediate hit, becoming ITV's highest rating new show since September 2014.

The series Producers of The Durrells, Sid Gentle Films said: “We are delighted that Milo is taking on this role. Durrell is such an important organisation and Milo will be a fantastic ambassador for a new generation of conservationists.”
