How I unwind: Heather Brown, RampArts

Friday 13 January 2023

Cheese, a bit of David Bowie and Earl Grey tea are just some of the things the founder of an arts collective turns to when she wants to relax.

Heather Brown, the founder of RampArts Jersey, has worked in Intellectual Property for 13 years and currently works as an IP Renewals Manager.

When she is not organising events for local creatives in her spare time, Heather turns to cheese, music and reading to relax, as she explained...

To unwind, I eat…

...Cheese. I'm a huge fondue fan and love my vintage fondue set.

Jarlsberg and Brunost are my favourite cheeses! I was first introduced to Brunost (brown cheese) by Norwegian friends at uni, it's sweet and delicious!

I drink…

...Earl Grey Tea from The Merchants.

Not only does this stylish space provide a creative hub to hang in, they also have the coolest cups if you're on the go!

I listen to…

...David Bowie.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I follow in my mum’s glam-punk footsteps, her taste in music was massively influential, I’m so grateful she filled our home with it! I inherited her David Bowie obsession, style, song, and fashion, he was and still is a complete icon.

I read…

...English Author Lynda La Plante.

I admire the way she portrays detailed crime scenes and forensic science in her writing. I like to buy her books second-hand, and always pass them on to friends and family when I’m done.

I go…

Hospice_Shopping.jpg a charity shop.

When I’m not binge watching 80s  movies on Netflix, my favourite thing to do is charity shop. I love looking at the different fashion trends and fabrics, and donate to charity regularly too - I’m always bumping into my old items on the rails!
