A reader shares their concerns over the extension of the contract of a firm tasked with changing the ‘culture’ within the government.
“Bailiwick Express reported on 27 July that the three-year TDP Development Contract £3.5m signed September 2018, to help change the culture within the civil service, is being extended by up to 12 months as a result of covid.
I understand the additional cost will be £500,000-plus.
If you cannot change the culture of an organisation within 18 months (Sept 18 – Mar 2020), I would argue you have lost the plot.
Of course consultants will take as long as possible, as they are good at spending other people’s money - in this case the Jersey taxpayers’ money!”
