If you're looking to spruce-up your mid-week plans, an evening at the touring circus is an opportunity not to be missed.
Tickets might seem like quite an investment – but Gandy's Big Top in People's Park is not just clowning about.
Though the idea of a circus could leave some thinking of budget entertainment, this touring group of artists are nothing but professional and highly skilled.

Even if you are a regular at the annual visit of Gandey's Circus, a completely new theme and performances awaits this year's audiences.
Hollywood is that theme, and the show is not shy about glitz and glamour. The costumes are the first thing you notice about the generously-sized cast and they certainly provide all the frills.
There are the usual circus act regulars in the performance, but what I didn't expect were the other new and exciting acts that bring a fresh flavour to the tent.
Thanks to the international cast of artists, cultural dances and performances peppered the entertainment – which was passionate and energetically delivered.
You will get dizzy watching. The acrobats' awe-inspiring tricks and flips are but some of the acts you will be treated to – not to mention the impressive skills of the motorists in the thunder cage.
Plus, no animals are involved for those worried about that.

It is no Greatest Showman, but great this show still is. A family-run circus dating back hundreds of years, each performer gives their all to their moments in the ring and really make the audience feel welcome.
A truly family-friendly but impressive night of entertainment that might inspire the next generation of trapeze artist.
If you're not averse to a bit of audience participation, silly jokes and amazing tricks then this is for you.
Gandey's Circus is only in Jersey until Sunday, before touring the rest of the UK – so make the most of it!
