The two Channel Island boxing clubs are joining forces for the first time to create a pan-island team to compete against a Liverpool select.
Announced yesterday, the Jersey Leonis and the Guernsey Amalgamated Boxing Club are calling it a "unique opportunity" for the boxers themselves and any sponsors the clubs can find to support their athletes.
The combined squad will play as the Joint Channel Island Boxing Team, with 13 athletes and four coaches from across the islands.
Financial support is needed to get the team to Liverpool with any interested parties asked to contact either the GABC or the Leonis directly.
In the announcement published today, the clubs said: "To ensure the success of this endeavour and cover the necessary expenses, we are seeking sponsorship. We kindly request a sponsorship of £5,000, or any amount you are willing to contribute, to assist us in covering the costs associated with the trip to Liverpool, which includes transportation, accommodation, and other essential expenses.
"By supporting the Channel Island Boxing Team, you will not only contribute to the development of these young athletes but also help raise the profile of the Channel Islands on the national and international boxing scene."
