Earlier this year the Bailiwick welcomed a host of online influencers, travel bloggers and digital creators, in a bid to get more eyes on the islands, and the tactic appears to have been a success.

VisitGuernsey, which organised the trip, has shed more light on the influencers’ comings and goings, and their overall potential reach.

More than 780 posts were made as a result of the travelling troupes visit to our shores, highlighting the islands’ hotels, scenic views and vistas, and the plethora of things to do whilst holidaying in the Bailiwick.

Combined across all 22 influencers’ platforms, they have reached more than 2.5 million viewers on their social media accounts.

The most popular of the bunch to visit the Bailiwick was Sbina Trojanova, whose account ‘girlvsglobe’ has more than half a million followers (604k).

The next largest account holder to visit the Bailiwick was British Instagrammer Salma Masrour, who has 226k followers on the platform.

The smallest of the group was Joe Parrilla, whose travel themed youtube channel has amassed 21.1k subscribers on the website. He’s yet to publish a post about his trip to the islands.

During their time in the islands, VisitGuernsey planned out plenty for the inquisitive influencers to sample, to ensure a varied view of what the Bailiwick has to offer.

On the Monday, following their afternoon arrival, they settled into their hotels, before enjoying a beach walk and a sea swim

On Tuesday, the group split up to explore different options. One group headed to St Peter Port, with stops including the Bathing Pools, Castle Cornet, Clarence Battery, and La Vallette Underground Museum. Others visited Moulin Huet with its Renoir Walk, and indulged in a Japanese calligraphy class and lunch at the Renoir Café. The third group got to tackle a Surf lesson, and then explored Fort Hommet.

Wednesday and Thursday saw trips to the smaller islands of the Bailiwick, with the influencers visiting Herm and Sark, before the group returned to Guernsey on Friday, closing off their week exploring the south coast cliffs, and exploring Fermain Bay.

VisitGuernsey has yet to announce how much was spent on hosting the troupe of travelling influencers.
