With about five weeks still to go before the consultation closes, the committee have said it had a very positive start.
The consultation comes as the States is keen to hear from as many people as possible as it works on a new strategy for Guernsey sport, as it was directed to last year.
Both those involved in sport and those who are not are being asked to express therir views, specifically on what can be done to help sport improve lives.
Clubs and associations have been contacted to provide direct feedback from their members, with 14 responses received so far.
The Plan for Sport consultation questionnaire has been put together with input from the Guernsey Sports Commission and health professionals. It sets out five broad themes:
- Sport for All;
- Healthy Lifestyles;
- Sports Events & Travel;
- Facilities; and
- Sporting Governance.
Members of the public can access the individual questionnaire via www.gov.gg/sportstrategy. Paper and large print copies of the survey are available to collect from Beau Sejour Leisure Centre.
The public consultation will run until Sunday 22 July, with the Committee keen to release the initial consultation responses by the end of October.
