The States’ former IT partner has donated its now defunct office furniture to the Guille-Alles Library, with the remainder sold off and the proceeds donated to the charity Wigwam.
Some of the furniture has been repurposed at the town library, including staff and public areas, with a boardroom table and chairs, hot desks, a counselling table, soundproof booths, new staff lockers and coat stands.
Remaining furniture was sold to staff and students at Blanchelande which raised £1,700 for the charity Wigwam which supports families and children with additional needs.
The total value of everything donated or sold is estimated to be £25,000.
Agilisys says it is part of giving back to the community, which it has done since it was selected as the public IT transformation partner in 2019.

Shona Leavey, Former Head of IT Service at Agilisys, said they wanted to make sure the furniture stayed in the island and made a difference.
“The Guille-Allès Library was the perfect fit. It’s great to see everything being used and enjoyed rather than going to waste,” she said.
“On top of that, raising £1,700 for a charity like Wigwam was a real bonus. Supporting the local community has always been a big part of our work in Guernsey, from environmental volunteering to student tech initiatives, so it’s always great to give something lasting back. We still have an enormous fondness for the people of Guernsey, and we wish them all the best.”
Cornelia James, Chief Librarian at Guille-Allès, said the team “are so grateful” for the donation which is making a difference to library users and staff already.
“We’ve had great feedback from regulars who really value the additions, particularly the soundproof booths, which have been a big hit,” she said.
“For our team, the upgrades behind the scenes have been just as important. The changes have given our staff spaces a real lift and made a noticeable difference to everyone’s wellbeing. They may seem like small things, but they’ve had a big impact.”
