The opportunity arose for AfG to launch its own bespoke programme in London, which will be run by Daniel Hosego.
“I started by thinking about what I would have needed as a 16-year-old artist if I’d been presented with this fantastic opportunity,” said Mr Hosego, who has been involved with ‘A Renaissance of Victor Hugo’ as an artist in residence.
“The key for me is to send these students back to Guernsey feeling inspired, motivated and with broader horizons.”

The four winning students will learn how to conduct visual research and develop their own style across several mediums.
It has been curated by Mr Hosego and Alisha Shannon, an Irish/Dutch artist based in the Netherlands.
“As a young artist, there is a unique moment in which you go from being a lone individual with artistic interests to being part of a vibrant and curious art world,” she said.
