16 extra flights are being put on to help visitors get to Alderney Week this year.
Aurigny announced the additional services after it had separately confirmed that it would be scaling down the number of seats available on Alderney bound flights by around 100 per week throughout 2026 due to issues with the leased Twin Otter aircraft serving the northerly isle.
There is always increased demand for travel to the island during the annual carnival week though, and Philip Saunders, Chief Commercial Officer at Aurigny, said the airline is proud to play its part in the celebrations.
“Once again, Aurigny is committed to playing its part in making ‘Alderney Week’ a resounding success,” he said.
“We are pleased to be able to confirm this additional capacity well in advance, providing those planning to take part in all the events with extra peace of mind.
“We wish everyone a memorable experience during Alderney Week and look forward to getting the island’s guests to and from this wonderful highlight in the island’s calendar.”
Alderney Week this year runs from 2 – 8 August.
The extra services went on sale this week, offering flights to and from Alderney from Southampon and Guernsey on Friday 1, Saturday 2, Sunday 9, and Monday 10 August.

This year’s theme, Under the Spotlight, will feature many ‘must-attend events’ including traditional favourites such as the Man Powered Flight, the Daft Raft Race, and the annual torchlight procession which brings the carnival week to a close.
