At around 14:45, Guernsey Police had to start to redirect busy afternoon traffic around the bus, causing traffic to back up all around Town for both drivers coming in to St Peter Port and those trying to leave town.

No one was injured in the incident, and another bus which was driving behind the vehicle which crashed helped to take its passengers. A Joint Emergency Services Control Centre spokesperson confirmed that the bus had hit the shelter, but all of the passengers were safe.
A cleanup crew was quickly on the scene and helped to clear the area of glass, but traffic took some time to clear afterwards.
Earlier today, a bus was photographed driving the wrong way up a one way road near Haute Capelles. CT Plus said it would be investigating what happened, but confirmed it was aware of the incident, and the bus had been returned to the correct route.
