Its first priority will be funding new schemes proposed by charities to help those in need while restrictions are still in place.
The second priority will be to fund charities which are already carrying out essential services and are struggling to fundraise because of the pandemic.
“We’re very grateful for the donations we’ve received, and of course we’d love to see more,” said Chair of the Social Investment Fund, Jurat Stephen Jones.

“The voluntary sector plays an essential role in our community even in normal times. We want to help ensure charities keep doing that, and that they can help to address the even greater challenges our Bailiwick now faces because of the coronavirus crisis.
“I know we will have difficult choices to make in determining where grants are awarded, but the more money we receive, the more often we can say ‘yes’.”
