A number of two-hour parking spaces have been extended to three-hours, although some of the makeshift ten-hour spaces at North Beach – which were introduced due to border testing facilities occupying the East Arm – have been downgraded to three-hour bays.

The three-hour limits will apply to spaces at the Albert and Crown Piers, other than those designated as long-term small car parking.

At the North Beach, all parking other than those normally designated as a 10-hour time limit will temporarily change to three-hour spaces.

Parking times in the area to the west side of the New Jetty Terminal building have also been changed from the normal 30-minute parking spaces to 3-hour parking.

A spokesman for Environment & Infrastructure said all the changes are geared around “making it easier for islanders to enjoy the festivities in St Peter Port and support local businesses.”

“This will mean a total of 28 three-hour parking spaces being made available for shoppers and six 30-minute parking spaces remaining for anyone wishing to undertake a brief visit to places such as the Passport Office and Condor Ferries.”

Some three-hour parking spaces by the Model Yacht Pond have been converted into 10-hour parking to increase capacity for those working in Town.

People will also be able to park at both Sir Charles Frossard House and Lukis House on Saturdays, as well as between 18:00-22:00 for late-night shopping on Thursdays.

The Port Permit spaces at St Julian’s Pier will also be made available for public parking on these days/times.
